Simply put, we’re looking for anyone who’s willing to dedicate themselves to adopting a healthier lifestyle over the next 6 months.
Following a free diet and exercise plan overseen by physicians from Cabell Huntington Hospital’s Family Medical Centers and the Marshall University Department of Pediatrics, dieticians from Cabell Huntington Hospital and the Marshall University Diabetes Center and personal trainers from the Huntington YMCA, you will have a unique and exciting opportunity to get your life back on a healthy track.
Male or female, young or old, dealing with the consequences of poor diet and exercise habits or just trying to live a healthier life, we’re looking for you.
In November of 2008, the Associated Press named our region as the unhealthiest region in the country. While there are aspects of the arguments put forth supporting this claim in the article that are subject to dispute, there is no question that we, as a region, are facing a number of serious health issues. The aim of Healthy Tri-State's Biggest Loser is to create greater awareness of these issues and of the lifestyle choices we can make to deal with them. By sharing real life stories of people in our communities facing the challenges presented by adopting a healthier lifestyle, we hope to show everyone in our region that you are not alone in these struggles and that by facing these challenges as a community, we face them with greater strength.
Healthy Tri-State’s Biggest Loser is a television show. If you do not want to be on television, you shouldn’t apply. We are not seeking to embarrass or humiliate anyone. You are not going to be forced to stand on a scale in your underwear underneath a giant digital scoreboard announcing your weight. While intimate details of your life will inevitably be shared, it is only our intention to present this information with sensitivity and good taste.
Being a cast member is also a significant commitment: You will be required to attend a weekly workout as well as a monthly meeting and boot camp. If you are not prepared to make this commitment, please do not apply and potentially take this opportunity away from someone else.
If you’re between the age of 12* – 75, fill out the form below completely. You must submit a recent picture of yourself for your application to be considered.
*Participants under the age of 18 will be required to have permission forms completed by parent or guardian.
